This is a really spooky centerpiece for your party table and it will be a hit with all your friends!
This is what you will need to prepare the Bloody Head:

1 Plastic Brain Shaped Mold
Gauze to wrap head from drugstore or party store
1 lb large Shrimp, peeled and cooked, chilled
1 1/2 tsp Powdered Gelatin, unflavored
1/2 tsp Horseradish, finely grated (or from a jar)
3/4 tsp Coarse Salt, like Kosher
1/4 cup lemon juice, fresh squeezed
1/2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning (or your favorite for seafood)
1/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper
8 - 10 oz Prepared Cocktail Sauce
Prosciutto
2 Lychees in syrup, canned
2 Brandied Cherries
How to prepare.-
1- Wash the plastic skull and brain mold and dry
2- Wrap the head with Prosciutto so that it looks eerie, use as much or as little as needed
3- Place a brandied cherry in each lychee hole and then place it in the skulls eye sockets
4- Set aside while you prepare the rest
5- If you got the brain shaped mold: Arrange the shrimp in the mold with tails facing up, in vertical rows (you'll only use about 1/3 of the mold)
6- Fill a bowl with 3/4 cup + 1 tbl of cold water
7- Sprinkle the gelatin over the water and let it stand for 5 minutes
8- After that, place the water gelatin mix in a small pan over medium-low heat until gelatin dissolves, mix to insure it dissolves
9- Whisk in the lemon juice, horseradish, salt, Old Bay and cayenne, mix well.
10- Pour gelatin mix over shrimp in mold.
11- Cover the mold with plastic wrap and press down on the surface.
12- Fit a plate or bowl into the mold and weight with cans.
13- Refrigerate until set, about 5 hours.
14- Turn the mold over on top of the skull, secure with plastic wrap between meat and gelatin.
15- Wrap the skull with gauze to hide the plastic wrap around the "brain".
16- Serve with Cocktail Sauce, crackers or crostini.
Enjoy! Have a wonderful party!!
